B. B. and The Blues Shack's new album Breaking Point is released by Rhythm Bomb Records (RB6013) and the album comprises fifteen songs. Twelve of the song's titles are original songs and the band handpicked three covers, all of which are embellished with the group's style and panache. The quintet innovatively has written their songs which stand admirably beside their idol's songs and maintain the ambiance of the originators of Rhythm & Blues music.
The five exponents of rhythm perform with a musical leaning towards jump Rhythm & Blues, with a full brass section booting along with their frenetic sound, which compels you to get up and dance. The line-up is; Michael Arlt (vocals & harmonica), Andreas Arlt (guitar & vocals), Henning Hauerken (upright & electric bass), Fabian Fritz (piano & organ), and Andre Werkmeister (drums). Extra musicians on the session are, Tom Müller (saxophone), and Stefan Gössinger (trumpet).
Musically they are old-school Rhythm & Blues with a dash of soul, served up in their unique style, be it on an album or stage their sound compares admirably. Inspirationally they take their interest from the originators of the Chicago, and Louisiana blues, with a clear and definable electric blues guitar approach to propel alone the tempo.

The new songs, all but one written collectively by the Arlt brothers, are combining the powerful blues foundation with elegant soul harmonies. Lead vocalist and harmonica player Michael Arlt became a member of Europe’s Premier League of Blues and Soul vocalists, a long time ago. His elegant and economical play has earned guitarist Andreas Arlt the reputation of being one of Europe’s greatest blues instrumentalists. Skillful Dennis Koeckstadt on piano, the band’s youngster, knows how to play the blues the way the old masters did. Henning Hauerken, representing half of the grooving rhythm section, feels equally at home playing upright bass, or bass guitar. Along with drummer Bernhard Egger, who joined the band in 2006, he is delivering the pulsating rhythm backbone of the band. B.B. & THE BLUES SHACKS recorded their new album in London. They had been invited by Liam Watson, one of today’s most in-demand producers, to record at his ToeRag Studios. Liam recorded and produced Elephant, the seminal album by the White Stripes. He also produced the last few James Hunter albums. In December 2009, the album was recorded ‘live’ in the studio with almost no overdubs. The B.B.s have been supported by organ player Raphael Wressnig from Austria. The horn section featured on a couple of tracks has worked with Van Morrison a.o. Within a week fifteen tracks were nailed down, an entertaining list of songs with moving soul ballads, grooving dance tunes and deep blues.

B.B. & THE BLUES SHACKS did never comply with the image of an average European Chicago style blues, or blues/rock band. With the release of London Days these guys are raising the bar in terms of contemporary soul/blues to new heights!

'Businessmen‘ - the long-awaited seventh CrossCut album featuring the Hildesheim, Germany based group, will finally be released on June 20, 2014. Later this year, the blues and soul quintet will celebrate its 25th stage anniversary. 'Businessmen‘ perfectly reflects the history and artistic growth of Europe's leading blues force, performing a marvelous set of originals in sparkling form, excellent and convincing.
Like its predecessor, 'Come Along', 'Businessmen‘ was recorded under the supervision of Andreas Wingert at Koka Studios in Vienna, Austria. With the exception of “It Was A Dream”, a John Brim Chicago blues classic, all songs were written by Andreas and Michael, the Arlt brothers and founding members of the band.
With confidence, competence, and power B.B. & The Blues Shacks are presenting themselves as a straight blues band with some soul notes, showing their enthusiasm and their attention to detail. More than any of their previous studio recordings, 'Businessmen‘ reflects the fascination and energy of their 3,000 plus live performances on international stages on all five continents. Since the mid-1990s, B.B. & THE BLUES SHACKS have been regarded one of Europe's best traditional style blues bands. In the past, their music was rooted in 1940s and 1950s style blues and r&b. Founding members Andreas and Michael Arlt are the creative backbones of the band. Guitarist Andreas Arlt is known for his tasteful and incredibly impassionate way of playing the blues. His brother Michael is deemed to be one of Europe's leading blues and soul vocalists, performing on the same level of quality as Sweden's Sven Zetterberg, or Switzerland's Philipp Fankhauser. The Arlt brothers are also the band's songwriting team.

B.B. & THE BLUES SHACKS are breaking new ground. 'Unique Taste' presents their new approach to the music, their unique blend of soul and blues, deep and emotional, easy and grooving at the same time. It's the songs, it's soul and blues, music that touches your heart. Contemporary music, tender feelings. Vocalist Michael Arlt will take you through the ups and downs in life, while guitar-playing brother Andreas plays the blues for you, with respect to B.B. King and Little Milton.

On the basis of more than 1,500 shows and some fifteen years of experience including worldwide tours with shows in Los Angeles, Chicago and Moscow, B.B. & THE BLUES SHACKS are playing the international top-league of the blues. In October 2005, both concert evenings as part of the annual 'Blues Shacks Festival' in their hometown of Hildesheim, Germany were mind-blowing events. The 'Vier Linden' ballroom was sold out on both nights with more than 600 fans attending. Pushed on by the never-ending enthusiasm of the audience, B.B. & The Blues Shacks did a fantastic job with verve, while having enormous fun.
The band, which was formed in the late 1980s, today is ranking among the most consistently booked in the European tour calendar. With their original and, at the same time contemporary variation of electric Blues and R&B from the forties and fifties, they have won fans all over Europe, in the U.S.A., Japan, Australia, and Russia. 'Live At Vier Linden' shows the band in superb shape.

The five-piece combo from Northern Germany with their second release on the CrossCut label.
Produced by the guys themselves, “Blue Avenue” is the perfect example for a high-energy album, recorded 'live' in the studio.
Midnite Diner, the predecessor, was produced by Marc T. with the focus on compact songs. “Blue Avenue” is different.
Supported by one of the tighest and easiest grooving rhythm sections in the business, guitarist Andreas Arlt and harmonica player Michael get plenty of room to stretch-out – and then there's the fantastic Alex Schultz (of Mighty Flyers fame) from Los Angeles.
On a couple of tunes Andreas and Alex are performing “battles of the blues guitar”. Pure fun!
Dennis Koeckstadt is the newest member of the band. The young piano player comes from the Chris Rannenberg school of blues pianist. He ads some special flavor to the B.B.'s blues. Juergen Magiera from Berlin laid down some nice organ.
Never before B.B. & The Blues Shacks sounded so fresh and played with so much self-confidence. Highly recommended.

With B.B. & The Blues Shacks from Hildesheim, Germany crosscut records has signed one of Europe's leading bands when it comes to traditional style, urban electric blues. Their first CrossCut album is pure fun.
The hot and spicey musical gumbo sounds very tasteful and entertaining, bringing you mostly originals. The source of their music is African-American music from the fifties. They dig Lousiana swamp blues, urban Chicago westside style, and r&b, alike.
The sound of the recording is superb, powerful and anything but slick. Jerry Hall flew in from Los Angeles. He was the man at the board.
The producing part was taken over by Marc Thijs of international fame. He was a member of the popular Electric Kings from Belgium, and has albums out under his own name.
B.B. & The Blues Shacks are a powerful and dynamic young band, playing more than 120 shows a year, all over Europe. If your not familiar with them, check them out! They are on top of Europe traditional blues league!
